Channel Rules

Please see the libera network policy at The following guidelines apply in addition to these policies.

The #fabradio channel should be a place where everybody can feel comfortable. This is the most important principle.

General Rules:

  1. Racism and intolerant speech of any kind is never permitted.
  2. Any topic that is not allowed on libera is still not allowed in #fabradio.
  3. Additional prohibited topics: politics of the alt-right, religion, COVID-19 denial/anti-mask/anti-vaccination and the like. If you are told a topic is inappropriate, it is inappropriate. If you are unsure if a topic is appropriate, please ask! We appreciate people asking first.
  4. This is not a support channel. While we do not mind being helpful please don't habitually/continuously ask for help with all your operating system/software problems. Most anything you need to know about Linux can be found in a Google search or an official support channel.
  5. Be civil and respect other people and their opinions, whether you agree or not.
  6. Do not accuse, provoke or intentionally offend others. Please keep rants about your personal psychological issues to a minimum. While no one minds being a 'listening ear', lay (ordinary) people are not a substitute for a suicide prevention hotline or professional psychological help. After the first hour it becomes tiring to others. Consider taking it to private.
  7. Do not spam, which includes advertising other channels/networks/places. Please ask first if you want to advertise a channel. What is and is not spam is left to the discretion of the operators.
  8. If you are asked to stop doing something, please do so politely.
  9. We reserve the right to remove annoying people.

The OPs have great latitude in enforcing the rules. Please feel free to ask about the rules or suggest changes. Feedback is appreciated.
