The Romano Tracks These tracks were composed over a two-month period, either for or about a specific person, sometimes during moments of great emotional distress. Tracks are listed in ascending order of composition date and form an immutable part of my body of work. |
Plant By The Window: I like doing natural light
photography so this picture helped inspire the track. Some
people are like a potted plant. They can't move to care
about others. You have to keep adding water and nutrients to
get them to respond. Cast Along The Shore: I made this with D**** in mind. I always like to do quiet tracks on Mondays. Ambient Soundtrack. Strings - Akai MPC Key 61, chorale - Korg Wavestate SE, fill sounds - Polyend Synth. Recorded together in a single pass stereo track, no multi-tracking or bounce tracks. No other additional effects. Mon Mar 17, 2025 Sleep Well, My Friend: I made this for you
D****. A completely extemporaneous ambient composition this
evening. Ambient soundtrack. My Mind is Full of Welcoming Thoughts When I Think of You: I made this for you D****. An act of kindness is never wasted. String chords - Akai MPC Key 61, drums/percussion - Korg Wavestate SE, fill sounds - Polyend Synth played together in a live recording. Sun Mar 23, 2025 Ruminating Thoughts: I composed this just before D**** ‘un-ghosted’ me. Sometimes people are not what they appear to be until you part the doors of their facade. This can lead to ruminating thoughts. Trying to simulate with sound ruminating thoughts in the brain. Ruminating high frequency sounds - Akai MPC Key 61, light mallet, ocean and string sounds - Korg Wavestate SE, background pings of doubt - Polyend Synth played together in a live recording. Thu Mar 27, 2025 Can You Do EDM?: Someone asked me if I could do EDM. Yes, all f#ggin' night, but its not my thing. So here I am doing a demo with one synth and a drum machine. Bass Drop - Korg Wavestate SE, Classic TR-808 sounds - Polyend Step. Sat Mar 29, 2025 I Have Reflections of The Beauty of Your Heart:
Dedicated to D**** from your devoted friend. No explanation of
this title is needed. An act of kindness is never wasted.
Another Saturday night completely extemporaneous, minimalist
composition. Not every ambient track needs to be a massive wall
of sound. Ambient soundtrack. How Green Is My Valley: Merchant of Chaos: Something a bit different
tonight, more Avant-garde and electronic, like what I used to do
on KPFT with the Wavestation. Doing the same thing all the time
would be boring. Hot Tears On The Dashboard: I was leaving
downtown Houston in my Jeep after receiving the worst possible
news. The wind caught my tears and splattered them on the
dashboard and windshield. April, 1985. This is a set of time
lapse photographs with a slow transition time. Late Afternoon: Back to some ambient. Strings - Akai MPC Key 61, Bells and additional sounds - Korg Wavestate SE, fill sounds - Polyend Synth, Percussive sounds - Korg Volca Drum. Live recording. Sun Apr 6, 2025 Wacky Wednesday: Just having some fun in a
mid-week session. This has an interesting, tentative build up. The Longer You Ignore Me, The Less I Care: I
bought an electric guitar to help someone out. Never played one
before. My hands are 'stone cold'. Who cares. I ran it through
the Big Sky effects. It kind of has a Western movie sound to it.
Should I have to ask? You Are The Special Star In My Sky: Dedicated
to D**** from your devoted friend. Parting Words - An Artist's Emotional
Storyboard Thank you to everyone who came by to listen to this track. This is what happens when you become emotionally attached with someone who self medicates their ADHD/Depression with Hashish. Only later did I find out this person had a reputation for anger/rage issues. |
